Mount Gravatt State School promotes a strong link between home and school. We encourage family involvement in the school.
The school has strong ties to Mount Gravatt State High School, located just 200 metres from our school.
Mount Gravatt State School is part of a local cluster of schools which provides collegiality for staff, moderation of student work and inter-school sporting and social opportunities and joint planning of units of work.
The school also works closely with Mount Gravatt State High School which benefits students and staff in both schools.
A playgroup for families with children aged 0-5 operates at the school every Monday morning during term time, from 9am-11am. For more information, please phone the school or visit the Facebook group. This playgroup is affiliated with Playgroups Queensland.
A homework club is in operation on Tuesday afternoons. This is open to students from grades 3 to 7 and provides an opportunity to get assistance with homework and reading. Registration forms are available from the school office. This program is run by volunteers from St Mark's Uniting Church, Mt Gravatt.
A breakfast club also operates each week (currently Monday mornings) providing snacks for students to help them start the day well. The breakfast club is also staffed by volunteers, mostly from the St Mark's Uniting Church community.
